Mother Kathleen Dunkley
On behalf of Bishop Lanford Gregory, the Governing Board, the Leadership and Officers of Beulah Apostolic Church UK, I extend today our very deep and sincere condolences to Pastor H. A. Dunkley, to all the siblings, and their extended families, at the calling by the Lord of their beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother into eternal rest.
Mother Dunkley has been a long-standing member of Beulah Church, who served our Lord faithfully for more years than we can number. In the 48 years that I have known her personally, she has been a pillar in God’s church and an outstanding example of solidarity and commitment.
In the early 1970s and 1980s she was one of the Prayer Mothers in the prayer meetings, travailing with the “unfilled” for the Holy Ghost. Her kindness and hospitality was shown to me personally as she welcomed me into the Dunkley home at Fortunegate Road each Youth Congress and Convocation.
Mother Dunkley was a wonderful gift to the Body of Christ and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Words such as faithful, godly, dependable, devoted, caring and loving are but a few of the adjectives that describe the person she was. We also salute her true Christian character which she passed on to all of her children, and her courage in the face of sickness and suffering.
She was indeed a “Mother of Zion” and we will be the poorer for her passing. We give praise to God for a life well lived, and which adorned the gospel of Christ Jesus our Lord.
Our sincere prayers are with the family at this difficult time.
